Appalachian Irish Dance Company was founded by Kimberly Morgan Mullenix in 2021. Having enjoyed a very successful competitive career as a solo and team dancer, she continued on to her true passion of teaching. Over 25 years spent teaching in Boston, Savannah, Charleston, and Jacksonville gave her great experience and invaluable friendships.
Since returning to her hometown, she has created classes for both children and adults in Elizabethton, Tennessee. The dance company in its first year has performed at the historic Bonnie Kate Theater, East Tennessee State University, Appalachian Celts Highland Games, Roan Mountain Fall-o-dendron Festival, the Jonesborough 4th of July parade, the Elizabethton Christmas parade, and The Covered Bridge Days Celebration.
It was her dream to come home and teach Irish dance....to share my love and passion for such a beautiful and demanding dance form....and to make it affordable and attainable for all who want to dance. The dream came true!
